Our mission is to provide volunteer doula services to individuals in Northeast Ohio who are experiencing economic hardship during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum transition.
We Meet You
Where You Are.
The time of pregnancy, birth, and new parenthood is filled with complex emotions and difficult decisions. On top of that, cultural and economic factors create extra obstacles for many families, leading to increased health risks and disparate birth outcomes.
Our goal is to help reduce these
disparities by helping parents access the
vital healthcare, education,
and support they need.
Our vision is for all people to be educated and empowered throughout their reproductive experiences, regardless of circumstance or identity.
Professional doula services can help improve maternal and neonatal outcomes,
but they’re often cost-prohibitive for low-income families.
We believe that all families deserve unbiased support during the childbearing year, regardless of ability to pay –
and our passionate community of doulas is devoted to making this possible.
We are also here to support those families that may have the financial ability to contribute to our services through
If your income exceeds the requirement listed or you do not meet the qualifications for the government programs listed below, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Each and every family we serve is met with open arms and unconditional acceptance.
No matter where you’ve come from, who you are, or what you need, NEODC welcomes you.
What Services Do We Provide?
Your birth doula team meets with you throughout your pregnancy, provides continuous support during labor and birth, and attends a postpartum visit to review your birth experience and discuss your postpartum needs.
Depending on your needs, your doulas may:
Discuss self-care techniques
Provide encouragement and physical support during labor
Help you understand your medical and non-medical options
Refer you to local healthcare professionals or support groups
Your doula team is there for you regardless of your birth plan or outcome, including in situations of adoption or loss.
A postpartum doula visits your home to assist with basic newborn care, parent care, and daily tasks around the house. Your postpartum doula may:
Provide emotional and educational support to help you thrive during the transition to life with a newborn
Assist with breastfeeding initiation, including troubleshooting any issues and providing a referral to a lactation consultant if needed
Help with newborn care: bottle and/or breast feeding, diapering, and bathing
Offer encouragement as you develop your personal style of parenting
Assist with basic housework and sibling care so you can focus on bonding with your baby
Every new parent's needs are different, and your doula will tailor her care to your specific needs.
We Are Here To Serve You.
